I Love My Mom Mothers Day Contest Winner

We held a “Why My Mom Rocks” Mother’s Day Contest here at NWSuburbsChicago.com, where anyone has a chance to WIN fabulous prizes by submitting a story about why their mom rocks.  These ladies shared with us some fascinating stories about their moms.  We sure do have a lot of awesome moms out there.

Thanks for sharing with us, Jennifer, Cynthia, Heather, Nicole and Carissa.  Your moms will be so proud!

And a BIG thank you to Aspire Boutique, Bliss Wine and Gifts, DreamScapes Whimsical Boutique and Studio, JJ Twigs Pizza & Pub Wauconda and Vitality Inc. Health for a Lifetime for providing fabulous prizes for our Mother’s Day Contest!

And without further ado here are the sentiments shared with us by our readers:

Jennifer from McHenry wrote this about her mom Jean:

My mom rocks because she is always there for me. She loves to make gifts for everyone. She makes baby blankets and hats for all the babies in the family. She makes cookies for my kids to take back to school at Christmas. She can fix almost anything. She will climb on the roof to clean the gutters. This is a crazy thing for a 70 year old woman to do. She wants to ride rollercosters. She will try almost anything once. She lives about an hour from here, but she will come here whenever I need her. She is the best!

Jennifer won a one-hour personal training with Linda DeFever from Vitality Inc. Health for a Lifetime.

Cynthia from Port Barrington wrote this about her mom Eva:

She may be spending Mother’s Day in the hospital and being a trooper about it. My mom is a single mom of three grown girls with families of our own but while we were still young she played the mom and dad role and worked her tushy off to give us everything we needed and was still there for all our important events. And unlike her sisters who are all retired my mom continues to work hard so she has enough to retire like them. She has shown me how to be a loving mother but also a hard working stern one. I love her with all my heart and only hope that she can make it out of the hospital in time to spend a nice afternoon at home with her daughters and grandchildren relaxing like she deserves. 🙂

Cynthia won a special prize from Aspire Boutique!

Heather from Wauconda wrote this about her mom Margie:

My mom rocks because she’s the most caring, giving and loving person I know. Growing up she always did everything she could for my brothers and me and put us before anything else. She always had something fun planned for us to do and I have so many wonderful memories growing up. She is very hard working and went back to work full time when my dad could no longer work for medical reasons. At a time when it felt like we could loose everything she prevailed and we made it through some rough times because of her. Almost 2 years ago my mom gave me the most beautiful wedding I could have ever asked for. There are no words to express my gratitude. And now that I am married and living in Wauconda we don’t get to see each other as often as we used to but she always makes it a point to call or make fun plans to spend time together. Her hugs are the best in the world and they always let me know how much she cares about me. On this Mother’s Day I want to express to her how much she means to me and that I think about her every single day.

Heather won a gift certificate courtesy of Bliss Wine and Gifts.

Nicole from New London wrote this about her mom Laura:

My Mom rocks because she is always there for everyone. She takes great care of our family. Lost her Mom the day before Mother’s Day in 2009. She took care of her mother in her home a week before she passed even though she worked 50 plus hours and has online college. Took care of her father for cooking and company up until he passed in February 2013. Still helps me and my son. She also takes care of my 14 year old sister and my Dad. She deserves time for herself for once! Love you Mom!

Nicole won a special prize from DreamScapes Whimsical Boutique and Studio.

Carissa from Schaumburg wrote this about her mom Eva:

My mom rocks because she just does. I couldn’t ask for a better mom. She’s understanding and patient, even though she has to deal with my issues on a regular basis, and she loves me to her core. She’d do anything for me and I’d do anything for her. And even though sometimes we don’t get along, I know she’ll always be there, and that’s what makes her rock.

Carissa won a pizza gift certificate from JJ Twigs Pizza & Pub Wauconda.  Enjoy!
